Hotels

Travelodge Plymouth

30 Derrys Cross, Plymouth PL1 2SW, UK – 0871 984 6251

The room was fine, the double bed was very comfortable but the extra single bed is extremely uncomfortable. It was reasonable price but they could definitely improve on this. You also have to pay for WiFi which you would expect to be included in the price these days.

Clean and tidy. Perfect location. Definitely visit again

Old Pier Guest House

20 Radford Rd, Plymouth PL1 3BY, UK – 01752 309797

Nice comfy room with everything I needed for my stay. Wendy is the perfect host and makes you feel so welcome. Happy to recommend this B&B to anyone. Breakfast was lovely and prepared very quickly.

Enjoyed a lovely stay whilst down for graduation. Short walk to the hoe, clean, great breakfast and kind hosts.

Barbican Reach

225 Citadel Rd E, Plymouth PL1 2NG, UK – 01752 220021

Very good place to stay for a night or two. They are able to do vegetation breakfast here also.

Wonderful, clean rooms with immaculate bathroom and comfortable bed. Facilities include hairdryer and tea/coffee tray. Excellent cooked breakfast included with great coffee. Ideal location, & Rob and Sue were so friendly and happy to recommend places to eat and spend time (and they gave us a map & directions too). Wonderful value and I'd happily recommend this to anyone wanting a friendly place to stay in Plymouth.

One of the several pubs in Stoke village. No bells and whistles but it serves good ale!

The Fishermans Arms

31 Lambhay St, Plymouth PL1 2NN, UK – 01752 268243

Fantastic food and service with a smile at this hidden little gem of a pub. Friendly and cosy ambience. Also serve a good selection of real ale. Dogs welcome, in fact they have a dog menu! Would probably advise booking a table in advance as it is a popular place.

Really good and friendly restaurant. Owner and staff make you feel very welcome. Food is very good, many drinks to offer. I really couldn't recommend anywhere better!

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation plus Guesthouses

Rainbow Lodge

29 Athenaeum St, Plymouth PL1 2RQ, UK – 01752 229699

What a brilliant place. The two ladies who run it couldn't be nicer or more helpful. The room I was in was delightful and very clean. The breakfast was yummy. The B&B is especially good if you are taking in a show at the Plymouth Pavilions (as I was) as it is just around the corner from the Rainbow Lodge. All in all a great wee place to stay if you are in Plymouth overnight or even for a few days.

Wonderful Guest House run by two lovely ladies Cheryl and Sue who go out of their way to make your stay more than just comfortable

Alma Lodge Guest House

125 Alma Rd, Plymouth PL3 4HQ, UK – 01752 217351

Nice room with very comfortable bed, host was fantastic and very helpful, great choice of food for breakfast in the morning.

I was only doing a job here, but the staff were really friendly and the place was lovely and clean

Island Lodge Guest House

1 Castle St, The Barbican, Plymouth PL1 2NJ, UK – 01752 220716

Stayed for 2 nites not too shabby get what you pay for worth every penny.

Stayed for 9 nights last September. Really enjoyed it. The car parking was excellent for the centre of a city & the staff were very helpful. The location was great and it suited us down to the ground. I imagine it won't suit everyone, but there are plenty of more expensive places nearby in that case. Highly recommended.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Southwest Holiday Cottages

8 Channel Park Ave, Plymouth PL3 6LQ, UK – 01752 260711

I've had a great experience with this company. They are very helpful and provided me with a really good deal. Over the phone I was offered information on the area and details about what cottage was suitable for what I was looking for. I would book with them again. Found it a lot easier than booking with a larger firm.

I've been booking cottages through Southwest Holiday Cottages for years going back to when they just had brochures. I've always found the cottage descriptions accurate and I've been generally well pleased. They've been helpful whenever i've phoned them!

Plymouth Hoe Holiday Apartments

We had a lovely few days here. A lovely apartment, very well equipped, very comfortable and fabulous views! We will be back here on our next trip to Plymouth.

Plymouth Self Catering accommodation at its best, we have now stayed with luxury sea views twice. Once staying for our families Graduation with Plymouth University and the other during the Christmas holiday period. As a family we much perfer staying in holiday / serviced apartments and luxury sea views have always provided easy booking and quality apartments. The apartment on Plymouth Hoe overlooked the Hoe and Graduation, perfect! And the sea view is fantastic, an ever changing picture. Much better than any B&Bs or hotels in the area, with competitive rates. We will use again on our visits to Plymouth and recommend. Thanks
