A book store with personality! Books well presented and always some nice person to help you plus a costa coffee lounging area. Very nice
Downstairs this feels like a typical Waterstones, good range of books, helpful staff. Upstairs is lovely. Really good atmosphere. Families with kids playing. A really good independent cafe where you can sit and read if you want (coffee and cakes are great, Toastie, chocolate brownie and 2 Cappuccino came to under £10).
18 The Parade, Plymouth PL1 2JW, UK – 01752 226311
More books than you could ever imagine - owner is a brilliant man, really friendly. Thanks a ton!
A treasure chest! 2-3 floors jam packed with books of all kinds. A nice mix of newer books and very cool old titles/editions. The kind of place you can get lost in! Run by a friendly gentlemen who is a retired Royal Marine. Definitely recommend stopping in!

Love this shop but I always end up spending more than intended as there are so.many great items in there.
Called into get a travel guide for our forthcoming holiday to Berlin, really good value only £3. Was given a reward card to register, which I have now done. Will definitely be going back again. Was served by Jade and Jackie who were both very friendly and helpful.

I always buy from then as I have never had any issues and they are good on prices.
Good however a little expensive, i also find it quite rude how the staff answer the phone half way through serving you, to take an order.

Unit 11 & 12, Faraday Mill Business Park, Faraday Rd, Plymouth PL4 0ST, UK – 01752 221989
Had a new car stereo system, with extra speakers, fitted to my Sprinter, plus a couple of extra electrical items that I needed doing. Emma gave me a price for completing everything, which I thought, given the amount of work that needed doing, was very reasonable. The work went ahead as planned but ran into a few problems meaning that I had to pick the vehicle up the next day. Not a problem for me and when I asked how much more I owed for the extra time I was told there wouldn't be any extra charges as the price had already been agreed. Wow, someone in the retail trade who keeps to their word, I was very pleasantly surprised. So in short, which I should have said at the beginning, Excellent work, excellent customer service along with great prices, what more could you ask for. My thanks to everyone at PCS for the tidy work completed but especially Emma who dealt with this decrepit, disabled old man with nothing but patience, understanding and kindness. Highly recommended.
Andy and Emma talked us through all of the options available, resulting in us having a rear and front camera fitted along with a mirror display. Excellent professional job, carried out in good time and at a good price. All staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Many thanks PCS.

Unit, 11-12 Faraday Rd, Plymouth PL4 0ST, UK – 01752 257373
Just had a fantastic experience at PCS from start to finish. Emma is so knowledgeable about all the products in the shop and asked lots of questions to ensure we made the right choice for us! No heavy sales pitch just perfect. Had a kenwood DMX7017DABS fitted in our Mercedes Slk as the original head unit was just a bit naff! Great system we love it. But above that we would highly recommend PCS a lovely family run company and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so much xx
Nice to see people working that appear to love their job. Emma defiantly knows what she is talking about. Had a few bits done here in the past and would recommend them over others in the area

Nicely geeky. That's not an insult. In fact, it's just the opposite. These guys know their stuff but don't bore you with the fact. They answer questions and offer advice at the appropriate level for the customer. You can listen to music but if you take the advice (and spend a bit of money) from Richer Sounds, you will HEAR music and that's an experience. Join their free VIP Membership to get future discounts and be prepared to haggle a little bit. I've always got a better deal than ticket price, even if it's just free cables (which can be pricey).
Our experience of Richer Sounds was a really positive experience. The products are of exceptional quality and the staff are knowledgeable with a friendly, helpful and efficient manner. They will happily give you advice on all their products, and offer you a price match (mostly though, they easily rival other companies on pricing capability). We particularly found 'Dave' (staff at Richer Sounds) to be incredibly in-the-know, apropos to everything in the shop, he easily and expertly answered all questions put to him. The equipment they stock is of the highest quality and spec, with a competitive pricing system in place. The shop is easy to navigate, with a sound room to the left hand side. This has a great set up, giving the buyer a great deal of ideas on how to build their own sound system/surround at home/events etc. They cater for all range of budgets too, from exiguous to £££'s! Well recommended and well worth a look.
15 Cornwall St, Plymouth PL1 1NL, UK – 01752 661652
Friendly staff both downstairs and up in the bike floor, greeted on the way in by staff on both floors, busy bike mechanics took time out of their day to help with a problem with bike, i still couldnt fix it myself so brought it in a week later again friendly atmosphere and they sorted my bike in 20 mins also left the bike with them while i carried on shopping.
Always helpful, although quite high prices.

I was recommended to speak to the guys at J & I regarding purchasing a new vehicle. I visited the office and from the moment of entering every single member of staff were very happy, polite, courteous, helpful and very knowledgeable. The two gentlemen I dealt with, were so lovely and worked hard at helping me drive away in the car I had set out to find. Nothing was too much trouble for them and I was even kindly picked up and taken to the office on the day of collection. At no point, did I feel pressurised into buying a car or any add ons. Everything was explained clearly and I felt extremely confident when driving away in my new car.... one very very happy customer. I would definitely recommend J & I Car Sales. Thank you so much guys :)
Brought my new car from them 2 weeks ago. Great service, easy process. Would definalty recommend
Barbican Approach, Plymouth PL4 0LG, UK – 01752 668886
After allot of confusion and annoyance my car is fixed now but the ride was not easy. No disrespect to the lady who dealt with me but the part I ordered, they were not aware arrived in black and had to be sprayed. After sitting in the showroom for an hour to find this out, they quoted me another 70 pound to spray it up. After some discussion, they agreed to knock that 70 down somewhat. Now the part has been replaced and it is working fine and everything but I'm not sure I would book it in there again once my warranty is up in a few months.
We got our car from here very helpful I'm disabled so I can't get just any car.
St Johns Bridge Road, Coxside, Plymouth PL4 0JJ, UK – 01752 252164
Tom at crown cars was extremely pleasant and went well out of his way to help me after writing my previous car of 3 days off in an accident, Tom had the car I wanted, from the finance application all the way through to collection Tom kept in touch to see how I was getting on with sorting out the previous finance and was very patient whilst i sorted this. Collected my car from Tom with a thorough handover Of the car, finance and warranty that came with the car, my other half had purchased a car from Tom previously and we recommend Tom to anyone looking for a quality car in Plymouth as all his cars are of top quality! After sales are awesome. Thank you!
Perfect car buying experience. Tom is a genuine bloke selling honest good cars and I can’t fault the service. I was offered a very fair price for my old car and I got an excellent car to replace it. The after sales care is top notch and I would have no hesitation in buying another quality used car from Crown Cars again. 100% recommend. Thanks Tom! Lauren

Very happy with service provided, we bought a BMW X5 in exchange for our old car, very happy with the deal Since the purchase 3 weeks ago, when the car had had a full service, valet & mot. The only problem encountered has been a rear bulb, which they fixed with not a quibble. Would definitely recommend using this garage.
Good communications, not pushy and accomplished an excellent deal. Car delivered in immaculate condition and on time. Can’t fault the experience.

89 Outland Rd, Plymouth PL2 3DE, UK – 01752 500652
Quite an expensive garage for fuel. I only stopped here for a newspaper. There is a Sainsbury close by with cheaper fuel costs.
Not bad but the fuel wasn't the cheapest I've ever paid
10-13, Grace Mill Business Park, Maxwell Rd, Plymouth PL4 0SN, UK – 01752 396294
Very helpful and no question is a silly one to these very patient people. Hoping to buy a bike soon from here, nothing is too much trouble for them.
Very helpful staff indeed, was kind enough to wait behind after hours for me to pick up my new exhaust after I finished work and didn’t try to rush me on the phone when I called for advice. I’d recommend them

I've been going to this pharmacy since the beginning of the year and they never, ever fail to be polite, helpful, and NICE. When you deal with a long-term illness it's easy for people to lose sight of the person you are and the troubles that you have, but every single person at the pharmacy has always treated me with the utmost respect. They've been incredibly helpful, helping me find ways to cope with the financial burden of being ill long-term, and they're just all around brilliant people. I couldn't recommend another pharmacy more.
David Stolton & his staff always go the extra mile to help me & my husband. They make it a true community pharmacy & are valued highly by all of us in the neighbourhood.

Went in to the Plymouth store today and I was packed. My Grandkids were fed up but a lovely lady called Sarah helped me out with everything I needed. She was amazing and said she hadn't worked there long but she knew where everything was and she was very informative. Thank you Sarah Jones!
Fair sized shop with in drake cruise. Easy to find what you want. Lovely friendly staff. Bit pricey on some stuff but that's nomal of mothercare. Has baby, children and mertunaty. I find most shops of same size don't usely have the mertunaty.
11 Cornwall St, Plymouth PL1 1NL, UK – 01752 671206
Lovely little ship, lots of different toys. Quite good on price, mostly cheaper then toys are us but bit more then other places. Clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
I used to love coming in here as a kid back in the 90s. Now as an adult with no kids, buying for other peoples kids, it can be a little daunting looking at so many toys. Staff are super friendly and very helpfull. The shop seems to be set out in ages which really helps when you dont know what your looking for. They still stock the smal plastic animals i had as a kid so they may get played with every time i go in..... totally not almost 30 ;)

Excellent Servicing and knowledgable on almost every aspect of computing, I will say they aren't possibly cheaper than all of the internet but if you live in and around Plymouth, you'll be really hard pressed to find anyone better for your computing needs. They cover personal and business needs when it comes to helpful advice about computers and more than helpful to aquire what you need if it's something specific in regards to computer spares etc. Personally I have found the staff to be both friendly and honest with what I actually need to get to upgrade a machine to what I need, instead of what I thought I wanted.
Helpful ...genuine...great service.....in purchase & problem solving
170 Exeter St, Plymouth PL4 0NG, UK – 01752 318168

Very knowledgeable and helpful. They couldn't do more to help me understand the problem I came in with and help me find an answer. They weren't interested in flogging me the most expensive item.
1 Charles St, Plymouth PL1 1EA, UK – 01752 633000
Because this store has a conflicting amount of 1 star and 5 star reviews, I think it would be fair to elaborate on the process to go through to make the after sales experience work well. In summary, it was a breath of fresh air to be dealt with promptly and professionally. My personal experience in fixing my iPhone 6s today went without a hitch; In fact quite slick. But, I made sure that there was a very clear case raised with Apple support and I ensured the store had the replacement parts in stock so as to prevent a wasted journey. My feeling is that this store is the real deal for legitimate scenarios and I also believe that things go wrong for people’s expectations as they don’t go through the appointment process properly and people who may not have legit grounds for a free repair or replacement. Do your part of the process thoroughly and they will exceed your expectations. I travelled 70 miles to them today and I don’t have one regret doing it. Well worth the 140 mile round trip. Use with confidence.
I can't fault the guys, girls and others at this store. I run a small business out of Cornwall and we have an office in London. Drake Circus over any of the stores Apple Stores in London or NYC. Their knowledge, professionalism and touch of humour and human compassion works. Im always approached to see if I need help. Not to mention going above and beyond when things have gone wrong. S

Now in my second year here studying Digital Art and Technology. I have my lectures in Roland Levinky so our lessons are always in nice and modern rooms. I really like how the university library is open 24 hours a day, plus there is always areas for quiet study. The university also offers some amazing opportunities for hobbies and sports which an incredible range of society's and groups. I currently run the photography society with my girlfriend and it's even more exciting running it. Going to uni is certainly a life changing experience and I'm glad I chose Plymouth for my journey.

Are you a frequent user, what do you print, ie photo's or mainly documents? do you have wifi etc etc. So the printer you need we have not got in stock but these guys do at the best price so just come back and see us for cartridges. OUTSTANDING VALUE FOR MONEY, PRICELESS KNOWLEDGE. HAPPY HAPPY CUSTOMER saving £££££'s. Thank you so much

It has been a weight off our shoulders having South West Data Networks handling our office software and computer requirements. Nothing is too much trouble for Andy Maskell and he is always available to give advice or sort out any problems which may arise. 1, New Victoria House, Weston Park Rd, Plymouth PL3 4NU, UK – 01752 603526
Great customer service. My bike is my main mode of transport so I put it in for a gold service. On dropping my bike off he had a quick look over it and straight away noticed a few parts that were in need of replacing. On picking my bike up he explained everything that had been fixed and replaced on my bike. Also explained what his philosophy was on bike maintenance and what his shop is based upon. It's nice to hear they invest in the community and in the youth. Where they could rebuild and refurbish on existing parts to save money for myself. This is now the only shop I will be taking my bike too. Great couple of guys I meet who worked there and where good with my toddlers as well.
Great Service in selecting, buying and setting up a new bike. Started with a test ride so Tony could see my riding level / style and to check different frame sizes. Followed by Orbea's method of selecting and customising a bike on the net before being delivered to Red Brick for set up - internet value with local service. And today headed out to Tavistock Woodlands for a day on the Trails to tweak the bike and improve my riding. Plus Phil in the workshop serviced my road bike - with the bill coming in below the estimate. Thanks

Thought I'd finally leave a review after countless visits! Won't take my bikes anywhere else. Prices to rival the online stores, customer service unrivalled by anyone. Excellent range of gear in stock and will order in anything you need if they don't have it. I've also had plenty of help and advice (not to mention great conversation) without getting my wallet out on occasion. Highly recommended, whether you're a complete novice or a full on bike nut.
Really good guys really helpful and you’ll struggle to beat them on prices as they match or beat anything you find online and the mechanics know loads about bikes

Wonderful family shop. An Alladin’s cave of DIY items and more. Family run (I think) - the staff are so helpful. I always try and visit this place instead of B&Q and Homebase. They are almost always able to help me out. Prices are great too!

From the time I made my initial online enquiry for our new Dimplex Optimist electric fire to the final delivery, all the staff at Beacon Electrical were extremely helpful and understanding to our requirements. They actually listened and made helpful suggestions rather than simply trying to sell me the product and I would certainly return for further electrical items in the future. This is not just another electrical store. they really do try to put the customer first. When I had a question following delivery, I phoned the store and the person who answered the phone immediately understood my question and gave a very quick and helpful solution. You don't get that with big chain companies these days. All in all, highly recommended.
Really helpful staff when arranging delivery times. Thank you - very much appreciated.

Just bought our son a new double faux leather bed frame and memory foam mattress. Really helpful friendly staff served me.Only down side was told a cover would come with the mattress, but this didn't happen. Paid to have it delivered I'm glad the delivery guys phoned me before as they were outside the wrong house as wrong number was written down on their copy of the delivery slip . Would highly recommend this store and would definitely be going back to purchase again in the near future.
Really pleased. This review is about 1) a pick up for donated goods and 2) the shop. 1) I had arranged for pickup of furniture to donate. Because I work full-time they agreed to ring me 30 minutes before arrival (to give me time to drive home for their visit). Sure enough they did ring, the drivers are independent self employed, I found the guy was really professional and friendly, quick and took it all. 2) I've visited the shop by the toys r us shop, it's always full of good quality furniture, so much choice. I have been visiting for months cos I'm still looking for my ideal sofa. The staff are really friendly and polite, very helpful when I have questions. They are honest in that, they make you aware stuff goes quickly (which it does, so don't hesitate if you like something) and they can't store your items for long cos it's so popular. Downside is car park for toys r us customers, but I chance it. Haven't got a ticket yet!

After being recommended by a colleague, Honors is my only destination in Plymouth for flowers regardless of the occasion. My wife totally adores the bouquets the girls design and they stay so fresh for ages…first loyalty card complete, hand me another..thanks girls and keep up the amazing work
After trying to buy orchids out of season, I contacted Claire and she guided me through the whole process. The flowers were excellent and she dealt with the whole order brilliantly.

Sharon is one of the nicest people you will meet. She is friendly, professional and has an incredible talent for flowers. We told her what kind of flowers we liked, and what our colour scheme was and she instinctively knew exactly what we wanted. The flowers were exactly what we had in mind and we couldn't have been happier. She made the whole wedding planning process an absolute breeze! Thank you again Sharon!

Stunning little Cafe in Stoke village. Great Italian food, coffee ,wines and brilliant staff
Great sandwiches, nice Italian imported goods on shelves. Coffee is more like typical Italian stuff so I avoid. Service can be slow when things get busy.

Excellent staff and lovely there is still a genuine apothecary with people who help effectively : )
Rickard Lanes has been serving health foods and supplements to Plymothians for decades, since 1865 to be precise. Almost everything healthy is stocked here. Rickard Lanes are famed for their own brand Sage and Garlic Catarrah Remedy. The staff are extremely polite and helpful. Rickard Lanes is far superior than the chain health stores. Looking for a healthy snack for lunch? There are shelves of choices. David

Staff are always very friendly and knowledgeable. Over Christmas when it was busy, there was a queue outside the shop just to get inside. Luckily there were plenty of staff on hand providing advice to people in the queue. In my case, the lady I spoke to knew exactly what I wanted and went inside to ensure that it was in stock so that I didn't waste time queuing unnecessarily. Great customer service.
Great sales team

They had a variety of pets and pet essentials. They have a great vet at the back that I take one of my dogs to. They have a variety of fish however as I went there not long ago there were 4 dead fish in one tank and one of the members of staff just covered the tank with a sign that said they were under treatment.
Good shop. Well stocked. Knowledgeable staff.

Puppy parties were a god send for getting our little French bulldog the socialising he needed. Always helpful and rang every week to see if we needed to come. Great range of different products and always really helpful. Nice to buy from smaller shops like this instead of big chains
Very friendly and helpful staff. Took our smelly black lab for a bath and was nice and chilled. Plenty of towels and brushes to use when your there. Well done team.

JD's Plymouth is quite small and have a unique selection of items for adults both men and women and children. There's junior and infants too! You can manoeuvre around the store but you can't turn around in the same isle, only up and down. Even though the selection is limited I can always order in store for next day collection. That's if you require that or home delivery whichever, is easier for you.
Very reasonable prices and very wide selection of items

For its size, this is a very well stocked store with staff that I've found to be very helpful and knowledgeable. The pen selection is the best I've found and they stock some really high quality goods
Charles Cross, Charles Cross Roundabout, Plymouth PL4 0BG, UK – 01752 227229
The store has a great products that are off a very high quality, it is often hard to find specific products but the staff there are always willing to help and point you in the right direction.
Oh, I love it in here. But then I've got a thing for stationery. I quite often flick my way through reams of paper or pads of Post It Notes and inhale the scent as I do so. There's nothing quite like new stationery. This is why I'm quite often arrested in such establishments. The staff are quite understanding though.

Our good quality lounge suite was showing signs of wear. We contacted Dave Nicholls and they came out to discuss the renovation and show us their excellent range of fabrics. They were very patient and helpfull whilst we made our decision. Ultimately they ordered the fabric of our choice especially for us. When the suite was returned we were delighted, it had been restored to 'as new' condition. We were impressed at the quality of the work and the good old fashion customer service, especially from Dawn in the showroom who never failed to answer our queries. Would certainly recommend this firm for the quality of its work.
Thanks for an excellent job on the six dinning room chairs you recently completed for us. We are extremely pleased with the results, they look fantastic, and are more comfortable to sit on now than when they were new! We will be sure to recommend you to friends and family. Many thanks. Kind regards Paul and Karen Thorn.

I cannot recommend prudence gowns enough. They were so friendly and helpful and helped me find my dream dress. As a very self-conscious bride to be, I was so nervous about trying on dresses. Simone helped me and made me feel at ease and I completely fell in love with my dress, as did the rest of my bridal party. Beautiful dresses long with friendly and helpful staff. Thank you prudence team x
When I started looking for a wedding dress I had all sorts of ideas of what I wanted. I looked round so many shops and kept finding dresses with parts that I absolutely loved but other parts of the dress that just weren’t quite right. Eventually my Mum found a dress that had all of the different things that I had fallen in love with in other dresses, apart from straps. I showed it to Clare in the Exeter Prudence store and the advice that she gave me was amazing, I thought it would be well out of my price range to order a dress into the store and then have the alterations to add straps. We tried on others but I kept returning to the dress I had seen on the Stella York website. When Clare told me the price I was amazed that it was affordable and Clare advised me about adding straps and so we ordered it in for me to try. There were certainly tears on the day it arrived!! Having felt like I was never going to get the dress I had in my head it was just wonderful when I realised I could! Anna, who was the suggested seamstress did an absolutely wonderful job of using the same material as the dress to design some straps that looked like they had always been part of the dress. I wore my Great Aunt’s wedding tiara which went wonderfully with the pearl and sparkle detail on the front of the dress. I would definitely suggest Prudence to anyone, the service and the helpful staff made my experience so enjoyable.
