Cinemas around Plymouth

25 Derrys Cross, Plymouth PL1 2SW, UK – 01752 225553

A wonderful cinema, celebrating it's 80th birthday this weekend. Join them to celebrate, it'll be a great event.

It's fun to come with the family to watch movies, tickets are inexpensive and you are well cared for by the staff, a friendly atmosphere.

Shapters Rd, Plymouth PL4 0LG, UK – 0345 308 4620

It's a nice cinema, it's usually overpriced however they're currently running offers for discounted tickets, which makes it a worthwhile trip. There are 16 screens, I think, missy of which have good screens and sound. The chairs are comfy and the air-conditioning always has the place feeling cool. It's generally pretty clean as well. Obviously the snacks and drinks are very overpriced but then it's the only way the venue makes its money after the movie studios overcharge to show their films.

Price has changed to £4.99 for the rest of 2018 hence the 5 stars. Excellent for the price (was previously excessive). Comfy seats and air conditioned. The green fire escape lights reflect off some of the screens and there are minor marks on some of the screens. These are picky observations though, overall very good picture and sound quality.

Jill Craigie Cinema

Drake Circus, Plymouth PL4 8AA, UK – 01752 585050

Hired the space for a private event, it really made it! Catering from the university was great with really helpful and friendly staff assisting. Couldn't have been happier.

It's one of the lecture theatres. Completely depends on what you've turned-up for.

Theatres for Plymouth

Barbican Theatre

Castle St, Plymouth PL1 2NJ, UK – 01752 267131

Lovely local theatre with a friendly atmosphere. The staff clearly care about the artist and audience experience. Hidden in the historic Plymouth Barbican they frequently also create work that leads the audience through these side streets.

great venue for live music with delicious food!

Theatre Royal Plymouth

Royal Parade, Plymouth PL1 2TR, UK – 01752 267222

A well priced selection of drinks, and a very polite and welcoming staff. I would not hesitate to book again knowing that however the show turned out, the theatre experience would be perfect. The only thing that could be improved in, is the card payments are registered against an odd provider name. Which needed a little research! :-)

Went to see For the Love of a Stranger by Agatha Christie. I had not been to the Theatre Royal since the refurbishment as I was out of the Devon for at least 10 years and moved back again and I so enjoyed it very much and going to the Theatre Again! As I only managed to go to the theatre once while living away from Plymouth as mega busy etc. The staff I came into contact with were lovely and couldn't be more accommodating and courteous. I enjoyed the show immensely! I am looking forward to my next show already, whatever it may be!

Devonport Playhouse

6C Fore St, Plymouth PL1 4DW, UK – 01752 606507

Went to see spamalot. Decent old school building ran by local people. Was nice felt nice to see something made/performed/ran by locals.

It's a loverly theatre. It's has a chair lift for the disabled. Men's and women's toilets..it's had stalls and a balcony area to watch performances. It's a lovely cosy theatre. Has a small coffee area that serve hot and cold drinks Alcohol beer wine and snacks. A small sweet kiosk . I've seen the most Amazing shows. By local Theatre company's. Prices for tickets are very reasonable.
